Darryl Reilly

The big “D” has hung up his building cap once again and is taking a well earned sabatical….or retirement….or something……best of luck Darryl and Di.

Darryl worked in local government in the Health, Building & Planning field for 34 years commencing with Grafton City
Council in 1972, Blue Mountains City Council, Carrathool Shire Council and finally Blayney Shire Council.

He spent 32 years at director level and retired from full time
work in July 2006.

As a senior staff member Darryl was responsible for the management/administration of Council’s Environmental
Services Department. This involved the employment of staff, preparation of budgets, and supervision of contracts.

Principal duties included:-

Processing and approval of development consents under delegated authority, ranging from residential to commercial through to industrial buildings.

Issuance of Construction Certificates, Compliance Certificates and Occupation Certificates. The design and supervision of council building projects such as Community Centre, Medical Centre, Aged Persons Units, Swimming Pool, additions to Council Chambers, and staff housing.

Processing of Development Applications under delegated authority. New LEPs together with amendments and DCPs. Community consultation for various development projects.

Administration/management of council waste disposal responsibilities via day labour and contractors.

Food premises inspections.
